DACROMET (zinc‑chromate coating) is an anti‑corrosion metal surface treatment. iDacro provides premium DACROMET‑treated fasteners for global clients.
DACROMET, also known as Dacrotized coating, is internationally designated as Zinc‑Chromate Coating. It is an innovative anti‑corrosion, rust‑proof surface treatment technology made mainly from zinc powder, aluminium powder, chromic acid, and deionised water.
DACROMET represents an advanced surface finishing technology. Compared with conventional electroplating processes, DACROMET is recognised as an eco‑friendly green technology that delivers effective metal corrosion protection and is widely applied to metal structural components across multiple industries. Its key advantages are summarised below:
- Thin coating profile with bright surface finish; DACROMET delivers outstanding performance in salt spray testing.
- Superior corrosion resistance: DACROMET coating thickness ranges from 6 μm to 12 μm, yet its anti‑rust performance is 7‑10 times higher than that of conventional electro‑galvanising, hot‑dip galvanising or paint coating methods. Fasteners and pipe fittings treated by the DACROMET process can withstand a maximum of over 1200 hours of salt‑spray exposure without red‑rust formation.
- Elevated surface hardness: the Vickers hardness of DACROMET coating reaches 210‑232 HV0.05, versus only 75‑88 HV0.05 for conventional electro‑galvanised coatings. DACROMET achieves substantially higher surface hardness compared with electro‑galvanising.
- Excellent heat resistance: DACROMET resists high‑temperature corrosion and can sustain service temperatures above 300 °C. By contrast, traditional galvanised coatings will blister and fail once the temperature rises to 100 °C.
iDacro has long‑standing expertise in DACROMET‑treated fasteners. Drawing on extensive technical and application experience accumulated over years, we have provided professional solutions for more than 1,000 clients worldwide and earned widespread recognition and a reliable market reputation.
